the River Looe opened in 1853

The harbour of Port Issac taken from the
balcony of the “Golden Lion”

Looking towards River Looe estuary. In the foreground West Looe and over the river East Looe and the fishing quay

Port Issac. The white building on the left is the “Golden Lion” with its harbour view balcony. Beach parking cost £2 paid into an honesty box. The beach slopes gently to the sea at Crackington Haven North Cornwall. The cliff is Pencannow Point (430 feet).

The clock tower, Porthleven. This may be familiar as is the site of a “famous” picture taken of the great storm 1987 with huge waves washing over the shore buildings. The pier, Porthleven. No big waves but a cauldron sea.
