Keyboard shortcuts can save time by freeing you from continuously clicking on the same menu items time and again. There are over 800 built into CS2, but you don't need to learn all of them! I've created a list of the ones I use most often - CLICK HERE to download the pdf file. The first ones to learn are the navigation shortcuts, and the square brackets for changing the brush size. |

In CS and CS2 you can edit the shortcuts and create new ones. The first one I recommend changing is Control + P (print). Before CS, Control + P brought up the print preview window, before printing. For some unknown reason Adobe changed this to Control + Alt + P, with Control + P printing without the preview window. To change this, click on Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts. |

Expand the 'Files' item and scroll down until you get to 'Print with Preview' and click. Hold down Control and type P to change to Control + P. You will get a warning that the shortcut is already in use - click 'Accept and Go to Conflict'. Change 'Print' to Control + Alt + P in the same way. Make sure that you save the new set of shortcuts by clicking the 'Save' Icon next to the Set Name. You can create a shortcut for virtually any menu item, including pallette menu items in the same way. |
