It was a beautiful fresh day a Rainham Marshes, with blue skies and a hint of spring – the first appearance of Pussy Willow catkins.
A Great Tit also enjoyed them:

Male Teal were busy chasing females:

The resident Kestrel (called Kes) hovered close enough for me to get these shots:

As the name suggests, Reed Buntings usually spend their time in reedbeds, but it the winter they can be found around the bird feeders:

Starlings still have the white tips to their feathers – these will wear off in the spring to a glossy black finish:

Finally, Robins and Goldfinches can’t help being photogenic:
